Bathtime Fun

Hunter and I are feeling much better now. Thanks for the emails! Heath now has it, but hopefully our family will be well again very soon.

I think he was ready for me to put the camera away!

Not A Fun Weekend

Hunter started with a runny nose on Thursday. By Friday afternoon he had a 102 temp that wouldn't go down with meds. We decided to take him to the after hours doctor about 7pm. He has 2 ear infections, conjunctivitis, and a big cold. Of course, by Saturday mommy had the cold, too. How can I not get it? He is feeling quite a bit better today so hopefully the worst is over.

My Little Climber

One of Heath's sisters gave us this blow up climbing wall quite a while ago. I guess they never used it. Heath blew it up and put it in the yard and before we knew it Hunter was at the top. I think Hunter's love for being outside has grown even deeper! He had the best time playing on it.

We couldn't help but laugh...

We were at Zach's house and the boys were playing. They wandered into Zach's bedroom while the moms were sitting on the couch. We continued chatting until we heard the boys opening and closing the dresser drawer. Megan went check on them because we didn't want any smashed fingers and all I heard was, "Oh My God". Clothes all over the floor! They emptied two big drawers of clothes.

Conversation with Daddy

Hunter was in a great mood tonight. He had lots to say. Sorry, but the video is really dark. You really can't even see him, but you know what he looks like. It's his voice you never hear. Heath and Hunter had built a tower of legos and Hunter had a lot to say about it.

The lighting is better in this one. Hunter was talking on his phone in the car.

GO JAGS!

We're so excited that our Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Steelers last night in their first game of the playoffs! It was such an exciting game that came down to the last second. We stayed up til almost midnight watching it.. something I never do. I had to take a nap today to catch back up. Hunter was all decked out for the big game!

He's watching the ducks

Happy New Year!

So, we had our 4th Annual (Sort of -we skipped the 3rd because Hunter was tiny) Turkey Drop New Years Eve Party. I'll explain the meaning of 'turkey drop' below with the pictures.

Here's the food. Marcie was a huge help with all her Martha Stewart-ness.
The lighted ice blocks are a must have!
No party is complete without a yummy chocolate fountain!
Cheers!

For those of you who don't know the story of how the turkey drop came about I will explain. In 2001 when I started working at my job the owners gave out turkeys to the employees before Thanksgiving. I lived in an apartment with my friend and we never cooked the turkey. Fast forward to 2003 when Heath and I got married and I was moving into our house - I still had the turkey in my apartment freezer. Instead of throwing it out we moved it over to our house. I guess maybe we thought you could still cook it? I don't know. One night in the hot tub I brought up the turkey and asked Marcie if I could still cook it. I got some crazy looks and a firm 'no'. The next question was what can I do with it? Paul (her husband) came up with the idea to drop it like the New Years ball on New Year's Eve. 2004 would be the First Annual Turkey Drop New Year's Eve Party. Back then we didn't hang it up and drop it. Paul would just heave it up and into the pool. This year was the first year the boys figured out how to hang it. It was on a pulley system and they just pulled one little pin and down it went. It's just about the funniest thing I've ever seen.
Here are Heath and Paul getting it rigged up earlier in the day.
And here is the dramatic hanging around 11pm. And yeah, there is some silver garland wrapped around it to create a nice sparkle.

And I have no actual pictures of it dropping because I had the video camera and no one else was taking pictures!

A few Christmas pictures

Christmas was a whirlwind of a day. We had 11 over for presents and breakfast and 6 for dinner. I feel like all we did was cook and clean-up all day! Hunter enjoyed tearing the paper on the presents no matter whose they were.

I was really terrible about taking pictures, but here are a few.

Heath's iphone was the biggest surprise. He had no idea he was getting it so the reaction was completely real.

1 Year Pictures (a little late)

I'm finally getting around to posting these. I'm not sure what took me so long.
The following 3 pictures are displayed in one frame, side by side, as a story. He adores his 'dog' as you can tell by the pictures. It goes everywhere with him. I have two of them that go in rotation through the washing machine. I'm considering getting a third just in case.

Outdoors Kind Of Guy

I can't tell you how much Hunter LOVES to be outside. Putting shoes on equals time to go outside in his mind. He runs straight to the laundry room door once his shoes have been put on (and sometimes when his shoes haven't been put on, but he's trying to tell me he wants to go outside). Now, in mommy's mind it doesn't always go that way. We've had a few meltdowns because mommy doesn't want to spend her entire day outside. We're working on that. Hunter never goes far. He walks up and down our driveway, down the sidewalk as far as the next driveway, and up to the neighbors' front door. He loves to walk through the grass, too, but if he falls he doesn't like to put his hands in the grass to get back up so he yells until I come help him. He knows not to go past the sidewalk line and will stop if I say "STOP".

"My yard, my rules!". And check out the adorable Crocs. We're a Crocs family.
Playing in the mulch
Loves sticks
And loves to drag a broom around
