Easter

We did things a little different this year.  We went to Easter service on Saturday night.  And Sunday we had lunch with the whole family, did an egg hunt for the kids, and went swimming. It was nice not to have to cram everything into one day this year.

Hunter is his Easter outfit before we left for church

Zach's 3rd Birthday Starring Mr. Richard!

Last weekend we went to Zach's birthday party.  Mr. Richard, our favorite local kid rock star, was hired to play.  What a treat! There were only 6 kids there so they all had front row seats. Some were a little star struck, but Hunter thought it was great and danced up a storm.  He was pretty sad when it was all over.

An Awesome 30th Birthday Weekend

Heath did an amazing job planning our weekend.  It was a lot of fun and very relaxing.  Just what I had in mind!

We started Friday with a mini shopping spree at the outlets followed by a pedicure
We checked into the Gaylord Palms hotel.  This is the view from our room.  We stayed in "Key West" and had dinner on this boat the first night.
Heath gave me this beautiful necklace
On Day 2 I got a massage and then did this the rest of the day
We had dinner at Old Hickory Steakhouse inside the hotel.  We've been there many times and it's so good!  This will have to do as my 19 week belly picture :o)

Next Kid Thing

I friend of mine is launching a new blog, Next Kid Thing, geared toward moms with kids.  There will be giveaways every now and again so go check it out.  There's one going on right now.  Go here!

She explains it best so I'll just let her do the talking.......

The Next Kid Thing is a new resource for, well, all things kids.  The Next Kid Thing profiles the latest and greatest in gear, gadgets and goodies for babies to big kids with modern parents in mind.

Let’s face it, parenthood can be a challenge at times, but great gear certainly makes things a little easier.  For me, sustainable and eco-friendly products piqued my interest when my son was born in 2007.  Since then, as a new mom, I’ve honed my research obsession to seek for what works best for my family.  Additional obsessions include, but are not limited to:  Dr. Bronner’s soaps, Twitter, early morning trips to Target, Apple products and of course, well designed kid gear.

And here's a little bit about her....

Ultimately, NKT is also my next big thing.  As a former magazine editor, I walked away from what I once considered my dream job in order to focus on my most important passions–my family and being creative.  With an interest in all things technology, modern kids’ products and the latest green trends, NKT was born.

Just a few pictures to get you through the weekend

The big 30 is quickly approaching for me. I told Heath I didn't want a big party so he's planned a weekend away for us. I'm completely in the dark and have no idea where we are going, when we are leaving, or when he'll give me some idea of what I should pack. He's made arrangements for Hunter and planned the weekend. I can't wait to know something!

Here are a few pictures I took while in Jacksonville.  We were outside waiting for the right sun to get Margie's pictures and Hunter decided he'd do some posing.  The sun was way too harsh, but not much I can do about that.

Margie

My mom has been wanting an updated portrait of my sister, Margie.  While I was home over the weekend we had a little photo shoot.  After waiting and waiting for the perfect light outside we finally got some useable shots.  Margie is the worst blinker.  I wasn't even using a flash and I'd catch her mid-blink.  I finally got smart and started firing shots as fast as possible.  There was no way she could blink as fast as I could snap!

Hunter even posed for a picture

Splash Park Fun

We went to our first splash park of the year yesterday.  Last year Hunter wanted no part of them so I was happy to see him have fun and get a little wet yesterday.

Kids will always find a puddle to splash in!

Canvas Prints

I've been wanting to order some canvas prints for a while now.  They're just so expensive.  Had I known how much I'd love them I would have done it a long time ago!  www.pixel2canvas.com has a promotion running right now so I finally bit the bullet and ordered the prints.  Normally, one good sized print will run you $80-$100 or so.  I got these two for $100 including shipping. I'll definitely be ordering again!

This is a forever picture in my house.  Hunter had just turned two.  I'll do the same with the next baby around the same age and I'll have one of each of them to display together.  This is a 16x20 with a 2 inch wrap.  I really love the 2 inch wrap.

This is an 11x14 with a one inch wrap.  Not quite as impressive as the other one.  I have this up in Hunter's bathroom.

Animal Kingdom

My awesome neighbor invited us to Animal Kingdom last Friday.  It's the only park we haven't been to so I was excited to see some new things.  And Hunter loves animals so I knew he'd like it.  We had perfect weather and the boys behaved well all day.

A group picture before we got going
Too cute
We put the boys in a double stroller which made things a little easier
On the safari ride where we saw lots of animals
We even stayed for the 3:45 parade.  The boys loved it.

Just some recent Written In Thread stuff

Just want to share a couple things I mailed out this week.  More to come.  I have a list of stuff to do yet!

I made these shirts for a friend who is expecting baby #3.  She'll get one for the baby, too, once she knows what it is.  I give her all the credit for the idea.  I think Hunter needs one now, too!
I made this for a friend to give as a gift at a baby shower.
