Spring Break Road Trip - Part 2 of 5 - Georgia Aquarium

We had heard the Aquarium was a really good one so we had planned to go when we booked the trip.  I'm glad we did because is was freezing and windy and it was so nice to be inside all day.  Peyton was such a big girl and walked the entire day without a stroller and didn't complain at all.  She was asleep not long after we got in the car :)

Spring Break Road Trip - Part 1 of 5

We planned months ago to take a spring break road trip with our camper and go to Stone Mountain in Atlanta.  It was just a bonus that our good friends, the Challys, live in Atlanta.  More of a reason to go! So, we spent a couple nights with them in their gorgeous house before we roughed it in our camper and the freezing cold (more on that later) the last few days.

We drove up to Jax first and spent the night.  So, the drive to Atlanta was about 6 hours.  The kids were great in the car.

We had a little issue that was easily fixed with some duct tape.

I was happy to see that Emma still loved me when we arrived.

Peyton and Jack payed more attention to each other this time.  Peyton's getting a little older... they're a year apart.

Here are the few non camera phone pictures I took.  Their backyard is amazing!  I can't even imagine it when everything is green and blooming.  There will be an official photo shoot of someone in this backyard one day.

The kids are growing up.  It's fun to watch their friendships evolve and grow.  And I love that they just pick up where they left off..... much like we do with their parents.

Crazy Hair Day

One day during Dr. Suess week at school they had Crazy Hair Day.  I had purchased pink hair spray on clearance some time ago in anticipation for this type of thing. Peyton was thrilled to have pink hair.. as you can see by the smile on her face.

Another day they had to dress up like a character in a Dr. Suess book so we picked The Hair Book since she loved her pink hair so much.  I just tweeked it a bit.  I braided her hair with pipe cleaners inside and it worked great to keep it sticking out.

Live with Kelly & Michael

About 2 years ago Robyn and I attended a taping of the Ellen DeGeneres show.  This year we managed to get tickets to a taping of Live with Kelly & Michael.  Love the show, but I admit I haven't watched for some time.  Michael is a great addition!  He's pretty funny and a great co-host.  The two of them work well together.  It was at Magic Kingdom which was pretty cool.  It was rather warm for a February day... especially under all those lights.  We were seated on the floor, but on the last row.  Zach Braff was a great guest and then Neyo performed.

Maya Ashton

I just realized that I never shared these pictures here.  My oldest nephew and his wife welcomed their first baby, a girl, on New Year's Day.  I was blessed to be able to document her birth (a first for me!) as well as take some newborn photos.  She's an angel!

What we've been up to...

Hunter is branching out in the hair department.

Peyton really impressed me by putting this puzzle together on her own.  The pieces don't exactly go together like a normal puzzle.

Hunter wrote this for a project at school.  I saw it hanging in the hallway.

Peyton LOVES dogs... small ones.  This is Aunt Tiff's dog... just her size!

I joined Hunter and 10 classes of Kindergarteners on a field trip to the zoo.  I was sick with head cold.  Great day :)

I timed a girls weekend just perfectly.  I was immediately off to the beach after getting home from the zoo.

I've been busy making cute newborn props out of old sweaters.

Hunter's school had a big carnival.  Hunter had 3 shots at the dunk tank and landed two of them.  In she goes!

Soccer has started again and we finally have a good coach and team.  They won the first game 14-0 and Hunter had 7 goals.

We finally put up Peyton's big bed.  She loves it.  My mom made the quilt.  We bought extra material back when she made the nursery bedding so that there would be enough to make a quilt.  Yay for not having to redo her room!
