another school year is complete

It's officially summer vacation!

Hunter finished his last week of school.

Here's a first day vs. last day comparison.

How does this kid manage to get cuter and cuter?

This is our little friend that we take to school most mornings.

Hunter's been blessed with wonderful teachers during these first two years of school.
We're so thankful for women who love these little ones.

Up next, VPK!  One more year until Kindergarten.  Him being the oldest in class affords me one extra year before he goes off to the 'big school'.

A friend and I went out to a park the other morning to try to get some pictures of her twins.  Peyton was tagging along so naturally I had to snap a few of her, too.  

They're all 21 months.  Just 4 days apart.  

Getting them to sit still for more than 3 seconds is next to impossible!
I got this trunk at a garage sale for $4!  First time I've used it.

torture lessons are over

It's been a long 6 weeks of lessons everyday, but it's all done and it was all worth it - every penny and every tear.

To graduate from Safe Start you have to swim in winter clothes.  These are survival lessons after all.  If she were to fall in during the winter fully clothed we know she'd still be able to save herself.

She did great!

And yeah, she still cries at lessons.  So turn your sound off if you don't want to hear the poor crying baby.  She likes swimming when it's not lesson time so that's a relief!

The rest of the PC vacation pics...

We packed the car full.  All this for four adults.

After we checked out our house and did some grocery shopping we checked out the beach.

Blue water, powdery sand, and completely private.

All the homes in Carillon have names.  This was ours, Made in the Shade.  Every day they had these two lounge chairs and an umbrella set up on the beach.

If I had a beach house I would hang this in it.  I saw this man a couple of times in the late afternoon just sitting with his feet in the water staring out into the ocean.

There were only 4 of us the first night there so we went to a restaurant called Red Bar in Destin.  We've been a couple times and it's amazing.  If you're ever there you have to go!

This is the menu.  They only have five entrees and they're all excellent.

I did this a lot that week....

One night we took the bride-to-be out on the town.

We went parasailing.

The boys played Polish Horseshoes.

It was a fun week.  I wanna go back!

The reception venue was gorgeous.  I loved the strings of lights.

A wedding wouldn't be complete without our AKPsi tradition.  In our college business fraternity Piano Man was a song frequently played while we all gathered in a circle, arms around each other.  We've managed to relive that memory at many weddings over the years.

Cory wins for best dance move of the night.  A pretty killer worm.

We sent the couple off with bubbles.

These two boys have been friends for many years.  

I'm happy to have found a great friend in the woman he chose :o)

We had a girls weekend at the beach last weekend.

We got all dressed up and went out to a nice dinner.

I brought my tripod and made the girls get outside and take some pics before we left.

First we have the usual everyone smashed together pic.

Then I made them have some fun :)

My girl, Megan is moving far away real soon.  So glad we were able to squeeze in a girls weekend before she left.  I know this won't be the last one, but it'll definitely be more of a challenge now.

8 Years

Today we celebrate EIGHT years of marriage.  It's been an amazing eight years.  I couldn't ask for a better man to be sharing it with.  I truly believe we have one of the best relationships out there.  You are my everything.  I can't wait to see what's next!  I love you, Heath Powell.
