Filler

This is totally just a filler post.  I've got so many Christmas pictures to edit.
Maybe by Monday I'll have something to share.

We attempted our first gingerbread house.  I bought the ready-to-go kit.  No problem, right?  Wrong.  I should have left this project to Daddy.  And next time I will.  Gluing the house together with icing just doesn't work so great.  It kept falling over.  Such a mess.  I've since learned that the trick is hot gluing the house together and then decorating it.  That would have saved me a lot of frustration.  I managed to get the thing to stand up, but let Daddy help with the decorating.  I was all done by that point.  It's probably the most ghetto looking gingerbread house, but at least we can't help but improve next year.

More of Baby Iris

I almost forgot that I took more pictures of sweet baby Iris and I haven't shared them here.  She was 17 days old here so we were still able to get some more sleepy pictures.

This was the final shot.  I really didn't have high hopes for getting it.  I mean, I've never even tried it.  I think a lot of photogs do a photoshop trick with this and that was my back up plan (even though I'm not so great with photoshop I was gonna give it a shot).  But I did see a youtube video where a photographer was able to get a baby to hold it so I knew it as possible.  So, after I got those shots I told mom to let go and see what happened.  Maybe I'd get one before she fell.  Well, Miss Overachiever sat like that for a good 10 count!

Embrace the Camera: December 30

Daddy's turn this week.  Hunter loves to be tickled, thrown, flipped, hung upside down, you name it.  Daddy is clearly more fun than Mommy :o)

We're home from the grandparents.  Glad to be home.  Peyton was miserable with a cold all week and didn't sleep well there.  Last night was much better in her own bed.  Now it's time to get the house back in order, grocery shop, and get back into a routine.

Some Things Never Change

Hunter was given a Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine for Christmas.
I remember having one as a child and using it all the time.  Can I tell you that these things haven't changed the least bit!  They look exactly the same and are still as hard as ever to crank.
It's fun to share something with him that I enjoyed as a kid, too.

Made With Love

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!  We're spending most of the week with my parents, but I will have a few blog posts this week.  Just no Christmas pictures until we get back home.

For Christmas my mom asked for a serving tray to sit on her big ottoman.  Heath decided he'd like to make one for her.  It's too bad I don't have pictures in progress of this project because this started out as a  thick piece of wood.  It came out so nice.  She just LOVES it.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Here's the video of Hunter's little class singing in his school's Christmas program.  It's funny, you ask him to perform a song for Grandma and he gets all embarrassed and won't do it, but put him in front of 100 people and he's all about it.

Have a Merry Christmas!  Enjoy your families and eat lots of yummy treats!
Blogging might be light next week.  We'll be out of town most of the week.

Embrace the Camera: December 23

Today it's me and my girl.  These pictures were taken in the span of about 2 minutes, if that.
She's a funny little thing and she's got the most perfect creamy skin.

Naughty or Nice?

I really can't believe it's the week of Christmas already.  Our gift giving celebrations start tonight and don't end until Sunday.  That's a whole week of gifting!  Pretty sure it will result in some spoiled children.

Have you been NAUGHTY....

Queen of the Dirty Look

Peyton is one expressive kid.  You pretty much know how she's feeling at any given time.  It's written all over her face.  At 15 months she's mastered the dirty look.  Not a clue where she gets that from.  Her mama was never accused of giving dirty looks.  Nope, not me.  I'm pretty sure I'll be telling her to pick up her eyebrows for the next several years.
