Road Trip and Hunter's 6 Month Check-up

I decided to brave driving to Jacksonville (2.5 hours) by myself with Hunter last week. Heath was headed to Tampa for a boys weekend so I figured we'd go see Grandma and Grandpa. We left at 9am and Hunter promptly fell asleep for about 45 mintues. Then he played for the next hour and a half. We didn't stop at all. For those that don't know, Hunter hated the car for the first 4 months of his life. He would just scream and scream and never fall asleep. Things are so much better now and I'm so thankful we can go places without all the drama!

We had a great weekend there. We spent Friday with mom's best friend and her grandaughter and great grandson. Here they are with their boys. This about as good as it gets with boys as busy as they are.
Today we went to the doctor for Hunter's 6-month check-up. He's 15 lbs 10oz and 25 1/4 inches long. He's in the 25th percentile for both height and weight. He's doing everything he should be and meeting all the milestones. We can't ask for much more. He got a couple of shots today. I think the shots get harder for me and Heath as he gets older. His newest thing is sqealing. He's definitely found his voice and squeals constantly. I think it might be time for the nursery at church.

6 months

Hunter will be 6 months old tomorrow. I can't believe it. Halfway to a year already. It's amazing how much he's changed and how much he's learned in his 6 months of life. I enjoy him every single day. He is such a good baby. I'm loving staying home with him.

We just started solids. He's not been too interested in cereal so we moved on to bananas which went over much better. Oh, and no sign of teeth yet, despite all the drooling and chewing.
He's also getting much better at sitting. He'll still tip over, but he can sit by himself for quite a while.
We're taking our first road trip, just me and Hunter, on Thursday. We're headed to Jacksonville while Heath goes over to Tampa for a boys weekend. I'll report back on how the drive went.

30 Years

Yesterday was my mom and dad's 30th wedding anniversary. We went up to Jacksonville for the weekend and had a surprise party planned for them. Two of my dad's sisters from Montana were in town as well as my cousin and her son. Heath and I told my parents that we were taking them out to dinner Saturday night for their anniversary. I suggested a place that we rarely go because we tend to forget about it. It's a restaurant that my mom used to work at when I was little. She was fine with that. We walked in and everyone started singing Happy Anniversary, led by Margie of course. They were SO surprised. They really had no idea. It was a really nice evening. Here's to 30 more!
