My Beauties

It's been a while since I've gotten both kids in a picture together. Peyton isn't big on staying in one place for longer than .2 seconds. But now that she's pulling up and standing like a big girl she can't get away so quickly.

To tide you over...

We're leaving in the morning to go visit family and friends in Jacksonville while Daddy attends a wedding in Canada over the weekend. We have lots of fun stuff planned while we're in Jax. Should be fun!

'I draw a heart for you, Mommy.' So sweet.

Having a little fun.

These fish go to a magnet game Hunter has and he stuck them on his fingers one day and my first thought was grab the camera. So fun!

Sketti!

This kid is like a vacuum. She eats anything and a lot of it. She had spaghetti for the first time and loved it, of course. What a mess!

And then it was bath time!

embrace the camera: july 15

This week is getting away from me. Here are me and Peyton dressed up for a baby shower last weekend.

The Playroom

We upgraded the playroom a bit over the weekend. Peyton being mobile kind of pushed this to happen. You see lots of wires that just speak to my put-everything-in-your-mouth little girl. We had this one sad cube storage for all the toys.

This room also doubles as a guest room so the couch pulls out into a bed. We bought two storage units at IKEA. They match the room better, are bigger, and just look nicer and sturdier.
The TV we had. It's been out by the pool and when we do want to use it by the pool it can be easily moved. Now I just need to figure out what to put up on the walls.

Sunday, The Fourth

Paul & Marcie had a small pool party/BBQ on the fourth. Marcie always does her parties up right and the food is always amazing. Her friend, Kristy made a lot of the food this time and she is equally amazing!

I contributed some red, white, and blue pinwheels

Hunter did a lot of swimming and learned he can swim through the pool hoops. Not just one, but all three of them at once.

Heath made Bang, Bang Shrimp, but we renamed it Firecracker Shrimp for the day.

Heath smoked the ribs
mmmm.....cupcakes
And we ended the day with some fireworks. After it got dark we had half the neighborhood gathered and the boys (little and big) had a great time.

Starting Early

I've tried to start early with the hair bows and headbands with Peyton. It's been a while since she's worn a headband so I put one on the other day and this is what happened. But I'm happy to report that I was able to distract her and make her forget about it and she kept it on for quite a while.

Saturday

Peyton put her bikini on and we played in the pool. For the record, I'm not a huge fan of bikinis on babies, but it was fitting for the fourth. They just aren't practical. That baby belly just gets in the way and pushes the top up further and further. So, she wore it and I took pictures and she'll probably never wear it again :o)

We went to a BBQ/pool party that evening. There were a slew of people and kids. By 10pm everyone had cleared out except for 3 couples and 6 kids (1 sleeping). We put a movie on for the kids so we could visit a little. They had a big couch, but for some reason sat as close as possible to each other. Cute.

embrace the camera: july 8

I guess I unintentionally took a week long blogging break since I haven't posted since last week's embrace the camera. Too many 4th of July activities this weekend I guess. Lots of pictures to post from that though.

We went bowling with some other little friends last week. So, here are me and Peyton at the bowling alley.

This was the first time we've used the ball ramp. It made the ball go much faster than the kids just trying to roll it down on their own (which they did some of, too).
