Halloween Festivities

Last Saturday we went on a hayride and trick or treating in our friend's parent's neighborhood. This neighborhood doesn't mess around when it comes to Halloween!

Here we are all loaded up.

Hunter was a fireman

Kaitlyn was a kangaroo

And Zach was a clown

Tonight we went to the Fall Festival at church and met up with Ethan, a Power Ranger and Ashton, a monkey.

Here's Ethan with his full costume on.
Grandma and Aunt Tiff decided to dress up a little bit, too!

Happy Halloween!

Weeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

My New Craft Area!

This is before. I just had a table where I had to share room for my embroidery machine and all my scrapbooking stuff. It was a bit crowded to say the least.
Here's another view. Notice all the tupperware containers underneath the table.
And after! We put in 3 cabinets and a countertop (the baseboard hasn't been put back yet). I have so much more counter space now. And lots more storage area. Not to mention it just looks much nicer.

Heath even drilled a hole for the cords. How fancy!

Thanks, honey! I love it!

Hunter and His Friends

We had Kaitlyn (almost 2) and Zach (18 months) over for a playdate recently and the kids are really starting to play so well together. At times they still want the same toy, but the moms don't have to be SO on guard while they're playing.

Halloween's Past

I've received a request to post pictures of past halloween costumes. Our neightbors have had a big halloween party called Pikelween (Pikel is their last name) for the past 3 years and it's always a great time. The costumes are usually amazing and very creative so you can't just throw something on. You have to put some thought and effort into it.

This was the first Pikelween. Heath was a plug and I was the outlet. He took a hard hat and drilled a hole in it for the lightbulb, then put a battery pack in it so the light would work! I thought my outfit was pretty boring so I spiked my hair up with hair cement so I'd look like I'd been electrocuted. It took me about 2 hours to do my hair!

For Pikelween II I was a geisha.
Heath was a bonsai tree. Our neighbors that throw the party, the husband is a big bonsai guy and has lots of trees. We thought it would be funny if Heath came as one of his trees. Heath spent hours making the pot part. He even took a picture of one of his prize plaques and blew it up to put on his pot. Heath won the prize for Most Original. Here he is posing with Paul's trees. We didn't dress up last year for Pikelween III because Hunter was just a month old, but we're ready for Pikelween IV so stay tuned for pictures of our outfits. The party isn't until Nov 3.

Pumpkin Patch

We visited a couple of pumpkin patches over the weekend. He wasn't too sure what all the big orange things were. We came home with a big pumpkin and a little one for Hunter.

Parent Commitment

Sunday we took part in Parent Commitment at our church. Several times a year couples come before the church with their young children and commit to raise them in a Christ centered home. In the Baptist church this is what is done instead of christening babies. When the children are old enough to accept Jesus into their hearts they can be baptised. We didn't get many pictures, but here are a couple.

Just Pictures

Hunter loves Grandma's necklace and she uses it as a chance to get some sugar.

Sometimes I find Hunter 'reading' next to his basket of books.

Getting INTO things...literally!

Hunter climbed into a big corner shelf in his closet. He was pretty pround of himself and played there for a while.

Hunter is allowed to play in the tupperware cabinets in the kitchen and I found him trying to get himself into the cabinet.

Still a peanut

We took Hunter for his 12 month check-up yesterday. He's 18 1/2 lbs (5-10th percentile) and 29 inches (25th percentile). So, he grew taller this last 3 months. She's not concerned at all about his size or how and what he eats so I guess we're doing pretty good. He's got 4 teeth coming in on the top so maybe once they come in he'll expand the variety of foods he'll eat. He's not walking yet, but it could be anytime.
