VPK Graduation

VPK Graduation was a special night.  The kids paraded down the aisle in their caps (no gowns for some reason) and found their place on the stage.  They sang a few cute songs and then walked across the stage to receive their diploma and give their teachers a hug.  They then showed a video of pictures taken throughout the school year which probably had most of the moms crying.  I guess I can officially say that he is now a Kindergartener :)

End of Year Teacher Gift

I saw this idea on Pinterest and decided I could make my own version.  These are made out of oatmeal containers.  It wasn't that difficult and they ended up so cute!  I filled them with candy and attached a card.  We really enjoyed getting to know Hunter's teachers this year.  It's my prayer that they will still be around when Peyton enters VPK in just over a year.

Splash Day

Every year Hunter's school has a splash day during the last week of school.  The kids just get to run and play outside all day.  They love it, of course.

Peyton was definitely not going to stand out of the way and watch :)
She tells me every day that she wants to go to 'pee-skool'.

Minute to Win It

My friend, Robyn was asked to put together an end of the year party for Hunter's class.  I was supposed to help, but I didn't do a whole lot other than take pictures :)  She came up with the idea to do a Minute to Win It party.  If you've never seen the TV show, contestants have to complete a game in under a minute to win.  So, she put together a dozen games the kids could play... some harder than others.  It was a lot of fun!

They won $100 for every game they completed.  How fun are these with the teachers' faces on them?!

They had to use the straw to blow the cup across and off the table.

This one was the funniest!  Place a cookie on your forehead and contort your face to guide it to your mouth.

 Mrs. Q did it!

Last Day of VPK

Well, it's over.  VPK is complete.  Hunter is a Kindergartener.  I won't fully embrace that reality for another couple of months.  Denial... I've got it.  This year was wonderful though.  His teachers were AMAZING.  They were the kind of teachers you compare all the others to.  Future teachers have a lot to live up to.  He's so ready for Kindergarten.  And he's SO excited!  We attended orientation at his new school this week.  He was so excited to learn he will have an art class, music class, computer class, and P.E.  I think he's ready to start like tomorrow.  I know his excitement will help the transition... for me!  This kid is going to be just fine.  He makes friends in like 2 seconds.

So, here are his First Day/Last Day photo comparisons.  He's definitely matured a bit.

I dressed him in the same outfit.  You can see how much he's grown based on the length of his shorts.

And Peyton... so big!  I'm not even ready to talk about her going to school yet, but that's coming in 3 short months.  One thing at a time :)
