More Pictures

We spent a lot of time outside this week. I got a baby pool and Hunter really enjoyed playing it. He splashed the water with his hands and of course loved chewing on the toys.

Sometimes you just have to let them get messy.
There is another post below that I just put up.

Friends

Hunter has spent some time with friends in the last week. Last weekend, our friends Cory and Vanessa visited.
Hunter and Cory were playing on the floor. Not long after this picture was taken Hunter spit up all over Cory. He handled it really well :o)
Hunter with neighbor friend, Jace. He's 3 months. Hunter is really interested in other kids his size.
And neighbor, Garland. He's just 2 weeks younger than Hunter. They had fun splashing around in the baby pool.

7 Months

Hunter turned 7 months last Friday. He's doing well with solid food, although he did have a food strike about a week ago and wouldn't eat any solids for nearly 3 days. I don't know what was going on, but we're back to normal now. As much as he loves to put things (toys, remotes, phones) in his mouth and chew on them you'd think he'd love food. I've tried some new things like biter biscuits (basically a really hard cookie perfect for chewing on) or puffs (kinda like dissolve in your mouth cereal) and he's not the least bit interested. He actually gagged on the puff. I guess we're not ready for that just yet. He doing really well with a sippy cup. He definitely likes to put that in his mouth. He mostly chews on the spout, but he is getting a tablespoon or so out of it. I think the biggest thing to get used to is the taste of something other than milk.

This is the latest development:

He's not crawling yet, but the day he turned 7 months he started getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. Since then I've seen him pick up one of his hands. It won't be long now!

Simply Adorable

These pictures were taken when Hunter turned 6 months (one month ago). I just got the prints and scanned them. It was so hard to choose. There were SO many good ones. But these capture his personality so well. He is the man of many faces.

Shoes and Feet

Hunter obviously likes his own feet as you can see in the picture in the last post, but he definitely likes the shoes and feet of other people. He'll be playing on the floor with a toy and catch a glimpse of my flip flop wearing foot, abandon his toy, and inch over to check out my shoe. He'd chew on it if I let him. He's definitely tried. We were at dinner with Aunt Pat and Uncle Ronnie the other night and I was holding Hunter in my lap. He looked down to see my foot moving and just stared and stared. I don't know what it is, but he really seems to like them.

Another Trip Home

We drove to Jacksonville Friday morning. Heath had planned a trip up to Tallahassee with some college friends to go watch the spring football game. So, we all spent the night in Jax on Friday and he went up to Tally Saturday morning while Hunter and I stayed and spent time with my family. We all had dinner with Aunt Pat and Uncle Ronnie Friday night. We went up to their house and saw the 6 baby geese (so cute) and Uncle Ronnie's big new workshop. Then went out for seafood. Hunter was a good boy and enjoyed chewing on a tin mint container that Aunt Pat found in her purse throughout dinner. Heath took off for Tally early Saturday and we visited some friends and hung out at mom's the rest of the day. Sunday we went to church with mom and Hunter was a doll through the service. Heath arrived around 1:00 and we hit the road to come home. It was a stressful drive. I've never driven in so much wind. We were so happy to be home!

Hunter's latest trick. He doesn't exactly do this by himself, but I pull his knees up and he rocks on all fours for a few seconds at a time.
Chewing on his toes is a favorite, too

Hot tubbing and Easter

Sometime last week we heated the hot tub to about 85 since the pool is still too cold. Hunter thought it was great fun.

I caught Hunter all layed back watching Sesame Street.
Easter Morning - It was windy and cold!

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a really good week here. The weather is gorgeous. Low 80s and blue skies, even a little breeze sometimes. We're really anxious for the pool to warm up. I think we're going to be in it a lot this summer.

I feel like Hunter has grown up so much in the last week. He's so much fun right now. It's definitely my favorite age thus far. He's sticking his tongue out and blowing. You know, when you make that ppppppbbbbbbb sound? He's always kind of done it, but now he's really got the hang of it and spit goes flying everywhere. The funniest is when he decides to do it when the paci is in his mouth and the paci goes shooting out of his mouth. He also has this sort of fake laugh that he does that cracks us up. He's getting better with food. I'm making most of his baby food. It's really easy and so much cheaper. He enjoys his cereal with fruit in the morning. At dinner he gets a vegetable. He's not a big fan of green beans, but he doesn't gag so I think there's hope. He really likes butternut squash. Next we'll try sweet potatoes.

Today was the first time we put him in the nursery at church. He's just become too loud to take into the service. He did really well, I think. His eyes weren't red when I picked him up so it didn't look like he cried at all. He was definitely happy to see me though.

We had pictures done last week and there are so many good ones. I don't know how to choose! Hunter was so good. He smiled and cooperated through pose and outfit changes for a whole hour. I'll post the ones I order after I get them. But for now, here are some from the last week or so.
