Jacksonville Baby Shower

My mom and aunt threw me a great baby shower over the weekend.  I didn't register for gifts because I don't need a whole lot other than clothes.  Everyone did really well shopping and I got A LOT of nice things.  She's well on her way to a full wardrobe for the first couple years of her life!

The cake and diaper cake
Hunter arrived just in time to help me open presents.  This is a quilt my mom made in 2005 before Hunter was even on the way.  Funny how it matches her room perfectly!
One of many bathing suits
with Ashton (my niece) and mom
With Heath's aunt (known as Dedi to the kids) and cousin (Sayer).  They drove up from Orlando just for the shower.

Three...soon to be four
Hunter loves blanket.  He doesn't discriminate with colors.

Sneak Peak

The stripes are officially done.  Yay!  After hours of touch-up (since good painting tape doesn't exist) I am still glad we did them.  The baseboard and crown are in and painted, too. No more painting until we get to the polka dots.  Still not sure how that's going to work.  I have to get my interior decorating friend to come help.

Bow Holder

If you don't know what a bow holder is it's just basically something to clip little girl's bows to. Ribbon works the best so that's really the only part you need.

I started by embroidering her name on a piece of fabric
Here are all the supplies minus a staple gun and 2 buttons that were an afterthought.  I covered the wood with batting and fabric and stapled it to the back.  Then attached the ribbon with a staple gun.  That's all there is to it!
Here you can see the buttons that I added to the bottom to give the ribbon some weight when it hangs.  I don't have a single bow for her yet!
I'm considering selling these for $25 plus shipping so let me know if you're interested and we can talk colors.

Father's Day photos revealed

Now that gifts have been given I can reveal the secret photos.  Thanks to my friend, Erin, for the idea we dressed the kids up in 'daddy's clothes' for a little photo shoot.  We bribed them with anything and everything to cooperate and they did pretty well.  The poem was stolen from a friend of hers.  I certainly did not write it myself.  I put the first 2 below in a frame for Heath's desk at work.

This one just cracks me up.  So much drama.
My favorite of K & K.  I'll share a few more of Kaitlyn later.  She was the perfect little model.

Homemade Mobile

I spent too much money on a silly mobile for Hunter's room so this time I decided to try to make my own.  I'll attempt to explain how I accomplished it, but this was a make-it-up-as-you-go kind of project.  I mentioned it to Heath and he had an idea to get me started.    Heath said to get one of those wooden embroidery hoops and hang things from that.  It was perfect.  I got the hoop (less than $2) and some ribbon to cover it up.  I found some already painted wooden designs that matched the nursery perfectly to hang from the hoop ($1 each).  I got the hoop covered in ribbon and the flowers hung on the hoop.  Figuring out how to hang it was the next step.  Insert Heath.  I attached 6 pieces of ribbon with a glue gun to a center knob that Heath rigged up.  I covered the knob with ribbon.  Heath drilled a hole in the top and we'll string fishing wire through it to hang it from the ceiling above the crib.  The whole thing cost me about $12 in supplies.

Here is most of what I used.  The hoop is already covered in ribbon in this picture.  A glue gun is needed, too.
All done except for the fishing wire.

Miss C - 3 Months

Yesterday I took my camera and backdrop over to a friend's house to do a Father's Day photo shoot with our kids (Those pictures will be shared once Father's Day has come).  When she asked me if her friend with a 3 month old little girl could come I jumped at the chance.  It's always fun to get the chance to practice what I've learned and I never get to photograph babies, just busy toddlers who don't sit still.  Little Miss C was a happy camper, but wasn't too sure about the camera.  She didn't give me too many smiles, but she looks precious either way.

I made a tiny tutu for Peyton and was so excited to be able to put it on an actual baby!  The headband is adorable.  I need some of those :o)

Miss C's mama wanted to put her in her daddy's baseball jersey and in the future take this picture every Father's Day to see how she grows.
We had to do it with the headband, too, of course!

Beach Week Pictures

9 days at the beach and we still didn't want to come home!  It was a great week.  We hit the beach every single day and Hunter never got tired of it.  He's totally my son.  We had a revolving door of guests all week which kept it interesting for Hunter.  We had different sets of friends with kids stay with us each weekend and we were visited by Heath's mom, sister and kids, Dedi, and my parents during the week.  We even had dinner with my niece Ashton and her boyfriend one night.

He put a lot of miles on this truck
Just chillin'
Daddy caught some little fish in a cast net several days and Hunter loved holding them.  which resulted in a lot of dead fish.
We saw some dolphins frolicking right of the dock at a restaurant we love.

Written In Thread Stuff

I've been pretty busy lately with lots of orders plus making gifts plus making things for Peyton. I'll share some of the stuff I've been making for Peyton soon, but for now here are some new things I need to add to my website.  My website is in desperate need of a big update, but I have a computer issue that needs to be worked out before I can tackle that.

Minnie Mouse Pillow Case Dress ($35)
Mickey Mouse Tee ($20)
Birthday Girl shirt ($20) - Front

Birthday Girl shirt - Back
Birthday Boy shirt ($20)

We're off to the beach for 9 days starting tomorrow with no internet other than on the cell phone so it'll be over a week before you'll see any updates here.  I hope to come back with lots of pictures and hopefully some family pictures on the beach.

Allison's 3rd Birthday

We made a weekend trip to Jax last weekend to attend Allison's 3rd birthday party. She is the daughter of a good college friend of Heath's who is also the brother of a good college friend of mine (did you get all that?).  The kids had a blast in the big bounce house and with all activities they had set up outside.

Tinkerbell themed cake
Hunter was very excited about birthday cake.
For some reason I just think this is a cute picture

Allison's not-so-little little brother, Jack.  We've been asked to be his God parents which is quite an honor.
