And so it begins....

The next big project in our house will be getting Peyton's (that's her official name in case you didn't know) nursery ready.  I decided long ago that I wanted bright pink and green for the colors and just recently decided I wanted polka dots and stripes.  I have a habit of creating something in my head and then having to go find it in the hopes that it even exists.  My mom has been gracious enough to offer to make all that is needed for the nursery again.  Heath's sister and I met at JoAnn's tonight to do some fabric shopping.  We thought we hit a dead end and talked about going over to another store in town.  She went to get some fabric cut and I decided to check out the special order swatches and there it was. EXACTLY what I dreamed up. SOLD.

Stripes = Bed Skirt and Window Cornice
                                                 Polka Dots = Bumper Pads
                                                 Paisley = Window Drapes

This is the crib and dresser we plan to order.

First Beach Trip of the Year

My parents and sister were at the beach this past week so Hunter and I went over for a couple of days.  It's amazing that it isn't blazing hot in Florida yet this year.  The beach was actually chilly with the wind until about 11am everyday.

We had perfect weather as you can see from the blue sky.

Hunter really loves kids.  He'll find a friend wherever he goes.  This little girl was 3, but no bigger than Hunter.
We got ice cream from the ice cream truck and Hunter wore most of it.  I couldn't believe that everything was priced $2.50-$3.00.  When I was little it was 50 cents!  That sounds like something an old person would say :o)
The water was cold so we didn't go far.  He's really liking the water this year though.

Silly Boy

We had a garage sale last weekend and Hunter had a different idea for the price stickers.

Then he decided to entertain himself in the bottom of the stroller I had out for sale.

Magic Kingdom

We spent last Sunday at Magic Kingdom.  This time Daddy and Grandma got to go.  It was a perfect day.  The crowds were pretty light and it helped that we had Grandma in a wheel chair (she's about to have knee surgery) and got to skip the lines on a lot of rides.

Hunter rode on Grandma's lap all day.

Hunter's been really good about wearing his hat lately.
Out first family picture in front of the castle.  I got several comments about my shirt (it says 'Knocked Up' in case you can't read it) and heard a lot comments as I passed people.  Ha ha!
Hunter has come a looong way when it comes to the characters.  He started out terrified of them and now he walks right up to then all by himself.
This time he got to see Buzz with Daddy.  He was a little put on the spot with the thumbs up.
We rode in the very front of the monorail a couple times.
Love this picture.

It's a GIRL!

I'm pretty sure the news has spread fast, but there might be one or two out there that don't know yet that this baby is a girl.  Shopping has already begun!  Hunter and I spent a couple days at the beach with my parents.  It was rainy the day we arrived so we spent some time buying some cute girl stuff.  It's a good thing I like pink because there isn't much else out there!  It's time to get serious about the nursery.

Pictures of our time at the beach to come!

Hat

Just had to share this picture.  Hunter wanted to wear a hat like mommy today and I happened to have one just for him (Thanks Aunt Pat and Uncle Ronnie!).

Easter

We did things a little different this year.  We went to Easter service on Saturday night.  And Sunday we had lunch with the whole family, did an egg hunt for the kids, and went swimming. It was nice not to have to cram everything into one day this year.

Hunter is his Easter outfit before we left for church

All the kids ready to take off to find eggs
Hunter was a pro at finding eggs

Zach's 3rd Birthday Starring Mr. Richard!

Last weekend we went to Zach's birthday party.  Mr. Richard, our favorite local kid rock star, was hired to play.  What a treat! There were only 6 kids there so they all had front row seats. Some were a little star struck, but Hunter thought it was great and danced up a storm.  He was pretty sad when it was all over.

An Awesome 30th Birthday Weekend

Heath did an amazing job planning our weekend.  It was a lot of fun and very relaxing.  Just what I had in mind!

We started Friday with a mini shopping spree at the outlets followed by a pedicure
We checked into the Gaylord Palms hotel.  This is the view from our room.  We stayed in "Key West" and had dinner on this boat the first night.
Heath gave me this beautiful necklace
On Day 2 I got a massage and then did this the rest of the day
We had dinner at Old Hickory Steakhouse inside the hotel.  We've been there many times and it's so good!  This will have to do as my 19 week belly picture :o)

Next Kid Thing

I friend of mine is launching a new blog, Next Kid Thing, geared toward moms with kids.  There will be giveaways every now and again so go check it out.  There's one going on right now.  Go here!

She explains it best so I'll just let her do the talking.......

The Next Kid Thing is a new resource for, well, all things kids.  The Next Kid Thing profiles the latest and greatest in gear, gadgets and goodies for babies to big kids with modern parents in mind.

Let’s face it, parenthood can be a challenge at times, but great gear certainly makes things a little easier.  For me, sustainable and eco-friendly products piqued my interest when my son was born in 2007.  Since then, as a new mom, I’ve honed my research obsession to seek for what works best for my family.  Additional obsessions include, but are not limited to:  Dr. Bronner’s soaps, Twitter, early morning trips to Target, Apple products and of course, well designed kid gear.

And here's a little bit about her....

Ultimately, NKT is also my next big thing.  As a former magazine editor, I walked away from what I once considered my dream job in order to focus on my most important passions–my family and being creative.  With an interest in all things technology, modern kids’ products and the latest green trends, NKT was born.

Just a few pictures to get you through the weekend

The big 30 is quickly approaching for me. I told Heath I didn't want a big party so he's planned a weekend away for us. I'm completely in the dark and have no idea where we are going, when we are leaving, or when he'll give me some idea of what I should pack. He's made arrangements for Hunter and planned the weekend. I can't wait to know something!

Here are a few pictures I took while in Jacksonville.  We were outside waiting for the right sun to get Margie's pictures and Hunter decided he'd do some posing.  The sun was way too harsh, but not much I can do about that.

Always willing to help Grandma
