A Mother's Day Craft

My friend Robyn made these a while back and I've been wanting to do the same. Mother's Day was the perfect opportunity and I'm so happy with how they turned out!  Robyn did a tutorial if you want to check out the different steps.  I changed a couple things so that I didn't have to go out and buy anything.

This one was for my mother-in-law.
I tried to use colors and patterns that would fit her style.
I think this fits.
I put the same number of clothespins as there are grandkids with the plan to use individual pictures of each kid, but I didn't have individual pictures of each kid.
The pictures can easily be changed any time though.

And this one was for my mom.

Muffins with Mom

One day last week was 'Muffins with Mom' at Hunter's school.

We arrived to find the kids made us a bouquet of flowers and a jar of jam.

They mashed the fruit to make it.

Peyton came with since Daddy had to go into work at the last minute.

This was her first taste of school and I'm pretty sure she fit right in.

They made us these gorgeous hats :)

Then they lined up and sang a sweet little song.

Happy Mother's Day!

I got to sleep in.

Breakfast was made for me.

I was able to shower and get ready with no interruptions.

The four of us went to lunch.

The boys are out cleaning my car inside and out.

The last part of the day we will share with my mother-in-law and a nice dinner out.

I'd say it's been a perfect day.

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful Mom!

Sibling Love

I'm so thankful that these two get along...most of the time.
Hunter is a people pleaser so he tries his best to be helpful and loving to Peyton.
She's not always so receptive to his hugs and kisses.
It doesn't keep him from trying though.
There are things I no longer have to ask him to do.
Like help her up onto the couch.
Sometimes she just needs an extra push and he now does that without thinking.

This was taken when Hunter had that 5 day stomach bug.  She just wanted to be close to him.  She had already had it so I wasn't worried about the germs for once.

We call this a 'squeeze hug'.

Embrace the Camera: May 5

Today is devoted to Daddy and his girl.Starting the season with swim lessons before getting the chance to even play in the pool ended up causing Peyton to fear the pool  because all she knew was the torture of swim lessons.  She wouldn't even get in on the step.  After several afternoons by the pool and her seeing Hunter and Daddy swim and play she finally got curious and would put her arms out to him like she wanted to get in.  He'd go to get her and she'd run off, scared.  I finally just handed her to him and she fussed for the minute, but then started having fun.  And it's been fun ever since.  These pictures are from that day.

Randomness...

This is an iphone picture post because I'm behind on my editing.

I spruced up my acorn weath.  Added some ribbon and 'flowers'.

I'm just a little obsessed with aqua these days.

I think I've decided that pretty much any color will work with it.

I made a little wristlet to go with my orange dress.

Business cards came!  Exciting!

Thanks to the early summer weather we are swimming in the pool a lot already.

Peyton avoided it for a while, but she finally decided she needed to experience the fun.

And she looks fierce in her swimwear.... adorable rolls and all :)

Easter 2011

The past few years we've gone to the Easter service at church on Saturday night.  It's allowed us a less crazy Sunday morning and the ability to have a laid back Easter Sunday.  This year there was no Saturday night service so Sunday morning was it...and we had to go to the 9am service.  We had to be out of the house at 8am so it was a very rushed morning.  We managed and make it to church on time.  The kids found their Easter baskets before we left.  Lots of pool and beach stuff.

After church we went to Heath's step-sister's house for lunch and a big egg hunt.

This was Peyton's first time hunting eggs.  She got the concept, but wanted to open the eggs as she found them because she knew there were goodies inside.

I painted her toes for the first time.  Here they are all dirty.

Hunter hunted eggs with the big kids this year.  He held his own.

This face spells pure exhaustion.  He fell asleep on the way home which never happens.
